  • Last week, Dancing On Ice was sharing zoomed-in pictures of the celebrity ice-skaters on their Twitter account, and fans were convinced one of them was Love Island's Maura Higgins.

  • And now it's been confirmed that Maura is taking part in the ITV show in 2020!

  • Maura apparently won over bosses, who previously had their eye on Amber Gill.

Those Love Island girls' schedules just aren't slowing, are they?

A while back, it was rumoured that Amber Gill was a frontrunner to take part in the upcoming series of Dancing On Ice. But after Maura Higgins won the producers over, it was reported that she'd be going on instead of Amber.

And now it's been confirmed that Maura is going to be ice-skating all over your television screens early next year.

Maura appeared live on This Morning to reveal the news. She said: "I've skated twice in my life just for fun, so I've no experience at all.

"I'm up for the challenge. I'm more excited than scared. I'm brave and competitive so I think that will drive me."

It's also been revealed that Michael Barrymore is joining the DOI line-up.

Fans thought she was probably going on the show when the official Dancing On Ice Twitter account shared a zoomed-in image, writing: "We can't wait for this celeb to get their skates on... #DancingOnIce"

Of course, it didn't take long for followers to predict it was Maura in the picture.

Last month it was rumoured ITV bosses had decided to choose her over Amber as a contestant on the show.

A source told The Sun: "Dancing On Ice producers were always going to sign a Love Island star for next year’s series and they wanted a girl this time after having two guys in the past.

"It was looking hopeful for Amber but Maura pipped her to the post with her sense of humour and personality."

However, an insider said: "At no point has Amber been booked or replaced on Dancing on Ice."

At the time, an ITV spokesperson told Cosmopolitan UK: "We don't comment on speculation around the Dancing On Ice 2020 line-up. This will be announced in due course."

This isn't the first year a former Love Island contestant took part on the ice-skating show. Last year, Wes Nelson made it to the final of the show, while Kem Cetinay competed in 2018.

Since leaving the Love Island villa, Maura's landed a role as an agony aunt on This Morning, and secured a huge fashion deal with Boohoo alongside fellow contestant India Reynolds.

Amber, meanwhile, has big plans for her aunt's salon back home in Newcastle, and is rumoured to be able to charge around £8,000 per sponsored Instagram post.

We reckon they're both winning, to be honest.
