'My love for you is limitless': Brian Kelly texts Notre Dame players that he's leaving

Before Notre Dame Fighting Irish head coach Brian Kelly left for LSU, a text Kelly reportedly sent to his players was shared via social media.
Kelly was the University of Cincinnati Bearcats' head coach from 2006 to 2009. He's been Notre Dame's head coach since leaving UC.
Kelly addressed Notre Dame players Tuesday morning. From The Athletic's Pete Sampson via Twitter:
Multiple sources indicated that Brian Kelly’s address to the team on Tuesday morning lasted less than two minutes, then he turned around and walked out. He did not take questions from the players.

Kelly's team lost 24-13 to the Bearcats in early October - Notre Dame's only loss so far this season - despite Kelly's halftime speech in which he told his players, "You're gonna play the right way, or you're not gonna play."
Social media reactions to the reported "late-night text" from Kelly:
.@DanWolken: Brian Kelly bailed on one of six teams that still had a chance to win the College Football Playoff natioal championship. That’s not just the action of a broken man, that’s the product of a broken sport. https://t.co/yzTmBQfLN4

I have lost all respect for Brian Kelly. Just filed my column on the matter. He's a bad person. https://t.co/xP2WFu8vNE

"My love for you is limitless" until $10 million is at stake, at which point the limit is bailing on one of six teams that still has a chance to win the national title. Brian Kelly sucks.

The fairy godmother delivered. https://t.co/6xDGin1pLo

Brian Kelly asked if he'd ever leave Notre Dame, aside from retirement: “No. I mean, look, I think Mike Tomlin had the best line, right? Unless that fairy godmother comes by with that $250M check, my wife would want to take a look at it first. I'd have to run it by her.”

Just a brutal day for Notre Dame football. Brian Kelly does an in-home visit with a recruit, and not long after, it gets out that he's set to become the new coach at LSU, leaving behind a team that still has a shot to make the Playoff.
