Love song to Allsup's burrito comes to Taos

·2 min read

May 26—Aaron LaCombe and his beloved Allsup's burrito are no strangers to Northern New Mexico.

The Austin, Texas-based singer/songwriter recently released "Allsups Burrito (A Love Song)," an homage to the deep-fried, ready-to-eat burrito sold at Allsup's, a privately owned chain of some 300 gas station/convenience stores, mostly in New Mexico, West Texas and Oklahoma. For some in the three-state area, eating one is considered a rite of passage.

He'll likely be playing the song when he performs at 7 p.m. Saturday at Taos Lifestyle in Taos and June 22 at Tumbleroot Brewery and Distillery in Santa Fe.
