Jan. 23 (UPI) -- A Rhode Island animal shelter is offering jilted lovers and ex-friends the opportunity to have the target of their scorn's name buried in kitty litter for Valentine's Day.

The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to animals said its "Love Stinks" promotion will allow members of the public to get some sweet and stinky revenge at a time of year most known for celebrating love.

"For a $5 donation, we will write the name of an ex-friend, lover, or even something you wish to bury in a litter box for our shelter cats to poop all over," RISPCA officials wrote on the fundraiser's website. "How's that for stinky retripootion?"

The fundraiser runs through Valentine's Day.
