Loved ones mourn the loss of Lynchburg cab driver following a deadly shooting

LYNCHBURG, Va (WFXR) — It’s been one week since Allied cab driver, Carroll Mack, was shot and killed in Lynchburg. According to court documents, Mack was killed shortly after picking up a man last Friday night. The suspect is in custody and charged with murder.

Now, friends and family of Mack are mourning the loss of their loved one.

The Lynchburg community has rallied around Mack’s loved ones. June Rose says she could always rely on Mack to get her kids to school safely and over time she says he became more than just a cab driver to her family– they considered him a good friend.

“He was loving he was kind he’d do anything for you that he could, he was a real sweet person,” said Rose.

Mack’s sister, Alberta Beasley, says she talked to Mack just one day before his death, she describes him as a loving brother who always went out of his way to help others no matter what.

“I thank God for Carroll I thank god for his presence, I do, I do, I’m gonna miss him so, so much,” said Beasley.

A memorial for Mack will be held tomorrow at 1 pm at the Jubilee Center in Lynchburg.
