Low chance of severe weather

There is a small chance of severe weather in the Upstate through the early evening Wednesday. A broken line of storms coming out of the Atlanta area is in an environment favorable for hail, strong winds, and a small chance of a brief tornado. If severe storms develop in our area, they will most likely be forming between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. After about 9 p.m., the rain will dissipate and give way to just cloudy skies. Partly cloudy, breezy conditions will help with drying out after 10 p.m. Cooler air moves in from the west with the low temperatures Thursday early-morning between 40 and 50 degrees. Sunshine returns Thursday with some clouds mixed in. We can’t completely rule out some stray sprinkles, but that chance is very remote at just 10%. Highs will be in the lower to upper 60s area-wide. Staying breezy Thursday with winds from the west at 10 to 15 mph.
