Low on gas ahead of Independence Day? Sheetz is dropping prices to celebrate the holiday

If you’re low on gas heading into the Fourth of July holiday, you might want to wait until Tuesday to fill up.

Sheetz is reducing its gas prices to $1.776/gallon to celebrate Independence Day. It starts at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday and will last all day, or while the promotional gallons last, the gas and convenience store chain announced in a press release Monday.

The reduced pricing commemorates the year when the Declaration of Independence was signed, 1776.

The discounted price will apply to regular, E85 (flex fuel), ethanol free (E0) fuel, Unleaded 88, mid-grade and premium fuel grades at all of the 675+ Sheetz locations in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia, the release states.

It will not apply to diesel fuel.

“Sheetz is a family owned and operated company and we are always looking for ways to assist the communities and customers that we serve,” Travis Sheetz, president and CEO of Sheetz, said in the release. “We hope this discount helps our customers keep a little more change in their wallets as they travel to celebrate the 4th of July with friends and family, with an obvious nod to our nation’s birthday.”
