Pontiac has always been known for its unique beak-like front ends, its incredible use of bright chromework, and its massive engines. Continuing these traditions in 1962, the Grand Prix picked up where the Ventura left off, immediately making a name for itself in the full-size high-performance segment.

With each year of production, the Grand Prix’s style became more exaggerated and its engine options became more powerful until it all boiled over in 1969. The result was a design that was like nothing the automotive community had seen before. While the Pontiac’s engine options were more powerful than ever before, the new Grand Prix’s focus shifted from performance to luxury and thus the J-Code Grand Prix was created. Sales almost quadrupled from the previous year, and when all was said and done over 112,000 rolled off the line. Today however, a well kept J-Code Grand Prix is a relatively rare sight.

Awesome Joe Auctions is offering this unrestored J-Code at auction. For the next seven days, enthusiasts can bid on this 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix Coupe. All of the body lines seem to be straight and the silver paint along with the black vinyl top and all the chrome looks to be in good condition. Likewise, the black interior seems to be well preserved and minimally used. Under the hood is a 350-horsepower 400-cid Pontiac engine that still sports the Pontiac Blue Metallic paint. An automatic transmission moves that power to the rear end where a new set of Chrome Ridler wheels wrapped in BF Goodwrench tires put it to the ground.

Factory features include power steering, power brakes, power windows, air conditioning, an AM/FM radio, and a tilt steering column. With an opening bid of just $15,000, this is an incredible opportunity to get behind the wheel of an immaculately preserved Grand Prix J-Code that has only been driven around 60,000-miles. Whether you are looking for a classic Pontiac to add to your collection or you prefer the classic style for your daily driver, this is the example you are looking for.
