Lowe’s giving away blue light bulbs to support Charlotte’s fallen officers

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Lowe’s Home Improvement stores across the Charlotte area will be supporting law enforcement this weekend.

On Saturday, local stores will be giving out 25,000 blue LED light bulbs in support of the four officers killed and others injured in Monday’s Shannon Park Shooting. There is no purchase necessary to receive a bulb.

Recipients are asked to shine a light on their front porches in support of those officers and others in law enforcement who have lost friends and colleagues in the line of duty.

“Our hearts are broken for the families of the fallen officers, their fellow law enforcement officers and the greater Charlotte community,” said Lowe’s regional vice president Sean Reilly in a statement. “We are thankful for the community coming together to support those impacted by this tragedy.”

Residents can pick up the bulbs in the checkout area. No purchase is necessary.
