Lower Hudson Valley weather forecast through Halloween for your spooky fall events

This week into and including Halloween is forecasted to be more of a treat than a trick this year in the Hudson Valley, according to the National Weather Service's forecast centered around White Plains. Only two days, none of them Halloween, are predicted for showers.

Saturday, Oct. 28, also has the forecast of sunny, with a high of around 77 degrees and a low around 56. Why not think about going to one of several events?:

Nyack: The 34th annual Halloween Parade kicks off 5:30 p.m. from Memorial Park (rain date is Sunday, Oct. 29.) Assembly begins at 3 p.m., also at Memorial Park; there will be a costume and float contest, also at that time. Throwing candy along the parade route is prohibited, notes the Nyack Chamber of Commerce;

Tarrytown: Also held on Saturday, Oct. 28, with a rain date of Sunday, Oct. 29, the 21st annual Halloween Parade will start 5:30 p.m. at Patriots Park (assembly time is 3:30 p.m.) The parade will proceed south on Route 9 (Broadway) and turn onto Main Street toward the Tarrytown fire department Hope Hose Company No. 1;

Rock on: 30 best Halloween songs, including Alice Cooper, AC/DC, Michael Jackson and Black Sabbath

Congers: A trunk or treat will be held at Congers Lake Memorial Park as part of the Halloween Festival, starting at 11 a.m. This event is aimed at children up to 10 years of age and will be held rain or shine; or

Mahopac Falls: A trunk or treat from 3 to 7 p.m. will be held at the Mahopac Falls Fire Department - Station 1. Cost is $2 per person if not participating with a car, children 3 years of age and under are free.

Sunday, Oct. 29, is forecasted to have a 40 to 50 percent chance of showers. Temperatures will between 55 and 64 degrees. And on that day, consider seeing:

Nanuet: The annual fall festival features a trunk or treat as part of the free scheduled activities, all between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Lake Nanuet Park. The event will be held rain or shine; or:

It looks to also be a forecast of showers on Monday, Oct. 30, with temperatures between 44 and 64 degrees.

The weather for Halloween on Tuesday, Oct. 31, is predicted to be mostly sunny during the day, with a high temperature of about 53 degrees and a low of 36, according to the National Weather Service. While it isn't freezing, it may be just cold enough to bundle up in the evening if you're going trick or treating around the neighborhood or going to:

Putnam Valley: The Putnam Valley Education Foundation will be holding a trunk or treat among other events in the middle school parking lot, starting at 2 p.m., for children 12 years of age and younger. Cost is $5 per child.

Halloween pet safety: Tips to keep your furry friends safe this trick-or-treat season

Orangeburg: The parade starts 6:30 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Orangeburg Fire House, traveling along Dutch Hill Road, Parkway Drive South, Devon Drive and Dutch Hollow Drive before making its way along Dutch Hill Road and then back to the fire house.
