LSU 2022 signee Will Campbell’s stock is rising

One of the biggest additions to watch as spring football approaches will be Will Campbell of Neville (Monroe, Louisiana). He is the highest-rated signee from the 2022 class according to 247Sports composite rankings. A top 30 player in the country, Campbell could find his way into the starting lineup for new head coach Brian Kelly.

According to Craig Haubert and Tom Lugenbill of ESPN (subscription required), among the top recruits that are climbing in the final ESPN300 rankings include the top signee of the LSU 2022 class, Will Campbell.

Campbell is expected to be among those fighting for a starting job at offensive tackle for Brad Davis in 2022. The team added four-star transfer Miles Frazier and FCS offensive tackle Tre’Mond Shorts. Both could be starters on the offensive line or they could find themselves in a fight with incumbent starter Cam Wire and freshman newcomer Will Campbell.

What ESPN Says…

Among an excellent group of offensive linemen, Campbell has established himself as one of the elite offensive tackles in this class. Game film that continues to show dominance coupled with a strong performance during the Under Armour All-America week, Campbell made it clear he’s deserving of a fifth star. He has a lean, powerful frame as a run-blocker (6-6, 275), which blends well with sound body control and agile feet in pass protection. Further bulk and strength should only improve with time in the Tigers’ weight program. Campbell is also a confident player who has demonstrated a strong understanding for the position. As an early enrollee, he’s a great candidate to play this fall in Baton Rouge.
