LSU baseball schedule update: Game 3 vs. South Carolina canceled due to severe weather

No. 1 LSU baseball's series finale against No. 6 South Carolina on Saturday has been canceled due to severe weather in Columbia.

According to LSU, the game will not be made up.

Both teams were scheduled to play a doubleheader on Friday for games 2 and 3 of the series, but Game 3 was moved back to Saturday at 11 a.m. – its originally scheduled date and time – due to inclement weather.

The Tigers (26-5, 7-4 SEC) split the series with the Gamecocks after coming back from a 7-3 deficit in the eighth inning on Friday. Gavin Dugas' two-out grand slam tied the score for LSU before Cade Beloso delivered the lead with a two-out single in the ninth inning.

Gavin Guidry closed out the win for LSU with 1⅔ innings pitched in relief.

South Carolina (28-4, 9-2) took Game 1 of the series on Thursday in convincing fashion, 13-5.

LSU's next game is on Tuesday (6 p.m., ESPN+) against Tulane in New Orleans. The Tigers will then host Kentucky for a three-game series starting on Thursday (6 p.m., SEC Network).
