LSU baseball score vs. Southern: Live updates from Mardi Gras Day showdown

BATON ROUGE - No. 1 LSU baseball will try to stay undefeated, as it faces Southern at Alex Box Stadium on Tuesday, Mardi Gras Day (2 p.m, SEC Network+).

The Tigers (3-0) earned a three-game sweep last weekend over Western Michigan, defeating the Broncos 10-0 on Friday, 5-3 on Saturday and 9-2 on Sunday.

LSU's rotation dominated throughout the series. Starters Paul Skenes, Riley Cooper and Chase Shores combined to allow just one earned run and five hits in 14⅔ innings pitched against Broncos hitters. The Tigers' pitching staff as a whole surrendered just four extra-base hits the entire series.

Southern (3-0) defeated Jackson State, Grambling State and Texas Southern at Minute Maid Park in Houston to begin its season this past weekend.
