LSU baseball score vs. Texas: Live updates from the Tigers' first road game in 2023

No. 1 LSU baseball will face its first true road test of the season when it plays at Texas in Austin on Tuesday (6:30 p.m., Longhorn Network).

The Tigers (6-1) are coming off a successful weekend at the Karbach Round Rock Classic in Texas. LSU was crowned champions at the three-game event, defeating Kansas State 7-3 on Friday and Sam Houston 16-4 on Sunday. In between those matchups, it suffered a 12-4 loss to Iowa on Saturday.

Leading the way for LSU over the weekend was Dylan Crews. Including LSU's win over Southern last Tuesday, the star center fielder went 10-for-14 with three doubles and seven RBI over the Tigers' last four games.

Texas (3-4) lost to Indiana on Sunday but took the first two games of their three-game series.

UCLA transfer Thatcher Hurd will get the start for the Tigers against Texas, according to an LSU spokesperson. Hurd struggled in his opening outing last Tuesday against the Jaguars, surrendering four earned runs in two innings.
