LSU baseball will look to advance to the Hattiesburg Regional final on Saturday (6 p.m., ESPN+) against Southern Mississippi .
The Tigers would not have advanced to the winners bracket if it weren't for its furious comeback in the eighth inning of their 14-11 win over Kennesaw State on Friday. LSU scored 10 runs on seven hits and four walks in the frame to erase a seven-run deficit. A loss would have sent LSU to the losers bracket and a date with Army on Saturday at noon.

Southern Miss' route to this matchup was less dramatic. The Golden Eagles defeated Army 2-0 in large part thanks to eight shutout innings from staff ace Tanner Hall. Their runs came on an RBI double and an error from Black Knights shortstop Kevin Dubrule that led to another score.
The winner of the Hattiesburg Regional will face the victor of the Coral Gables Regional which includes Miami, Arizona, Ole Miss and Canisius.
