LSU football adds Jarrick Bernard-Converse, a Shreveport native, from the transfer portal

Here are 10 LSU football players who could determine the fate of the Tigers' season

Oklahoma State cornerback Jarrick Bernard-Converse has transferred to LSU, the school announced on Wednesday.

Bernard-Converse was a four-year starter at cornerback and is a Shreveport native who attended Evangel Christian Academy. He was an All-Big 12 first team selection in 2021.

At 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, Bernard-Converse had 51 total tackles and 11 passes defended this past season. He also accumulated 196 total tackles and 24 passes defended in his four years at Oklahoma State.

"A steady, established veteran with a nose for the ball and exceptional cover skills, @TheJBnard always delivers," tweeted LSU coach Brian Kelly following the official announcement. "The combination of leadership and talent he will bring to our locker room and to our secondary improves us immediately. #GeauxTigers."

Bernard-Converse is the 12th player and third cornerback to transfer to LSU this offseason, joining UL transfer Mekhi Garner and Arkansas transfer Greg Brooks Jr.

The addition of Bernard-Converse helps fill a big hole in the Tigers' roster, as LSU lost four cornerbacks this offseason who were starters in 2021. Derek Stingley Jr. and Cordale Flott both declared for the NFL Draft, while Eli Ricks transferred to Alabama and Dwight McGlothern transferred to Arkans.
