LSU football, Brian Kelly add commitment from Denham Springs 4-star safety

BATON ROUGE – Four-star safety Dashawn McBryde has committed to LSU football, he announced on Saturday.

At 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, McBryde is the No. 24 safety and No. 266 prospect from the Class of 2024 in the nation, according to 247Sports Composite. He attends Denham Springs High School in Denham Springs, Louisiana and is the No. 7 recruit in the state.

McBryde also had offers from Florida, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Mississippi State, according to 247Sports.

Quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan and safeties coach Kerry Cooks were his lead recruiters, according to 247Sports.

McBryde is the first safety and the eighth defensive player to commit to the Tigers this cycle. LSU already has four linebackers, two cornerbacks and one defensive lineman committed to its 2024 class.

LSU had the No. 4 recruiting class in the nation prior to McBryde's commitment, according to 247Sports Composite.
