LSU football commits Jake Johnson and Decoldest Crawford decommit from the Tigers
LSU football lost a pair of recruiting commitments on Tuesday.
Four-star tight end Jake Johnson and three-star wide receiver Decoldest Crawford announced decommitments from the program.
Johnson, the brother of LSU starting quarterback Max Johnson, made his announcement at the same time his brother declared he will be entering the transfer portal.
The Oconee County star is the No. 1 tight end in the nation and the No. 4 recruit in Georgia. With Johnson out of the picture, LSU's only tight end commit is three-star St. Thomas Aquinas, Florida, recruit Mason Taylor — the son of NFL Hall of Famer Jason Taylor.
Hours before announcing his decommitment, Crawford — a star wideout at Green Oaks — received an offer from Nebraska. This was not a surprise, given that the Cornhuskers had just hired former LSU wide receivers coach Mickey Joseph on Friday.
With much prayer and thoughtful consideration, I am de-committing from LSU. I am opening up my recruitment! I plan on early enrollment @Jakejohnson2022 @Max_Johnson_14 https://t.co/Zq4oWpdzj6

Crawford is the No. 17 recruit in Louisiana and the No. 60 wideout in the nation. Following his decommitment, LSU does not have any wide receivers committed to its 2022 class.
LSU has the No. 15 2022 class in the nation and only 11 players committed to the program following Johnson and Crawford's decommitments.
