LSU football lands Darron Reed, a four-star 2023 defensive lineman

Four-star defensive lineman Darron Reed has committed to LSU football, he announced on Twitter on Monday.

Reed is the No. 34 defensive lineman and No. 228 player in the nation from the Class of 2023, per 247Sports Composite. He attends Carver in Columbus, Georgia, and is the No. 21-ranked player in the state.

Ohio State was also a strong contender for his commitment, per 247Sports. At 6-foot-4 and 270 pounds, Reed also has offers from Auburn, Clemson, Miami and Georgia, among others.

Defensive line coach Jamar Cain and defensive coordinator Matt House were his lead recruiters, per 247Sports. The Tigers have the No. 22 class in the nation and the No. 6 class in the SEC following his commitment.

Reed is the 10th player and third defensive lineman to commit to LSU's 2023 class, joining four-star edge Jaxon Howard, four-star edge Joshua Mickens, three-star wide receiver Kyle Parker, four-star tight end Mac Markway, four-star cornerback Daylen Austin, four-star safety Michael Daugherty, four-star safety Ryan Yaites, four-star running back Trey Holly and three-star cornerback Ashton Stamps.
