LSU football score vs. Southern: Live updates at first all-Baton Rouge matchup
BATON ROUGE - LSU football can score its first-ever win over Baton Rouge foe Southern (1-0) on Saturday (6:30 p.m., SEC Network) in coach Brian Kelly's debut game in Tiger Stadium.
The Tigers (0-1) suffered a heartbreaking 24-23 defeat to Florida State (2-0) last Sunday in the Superdome. The Tigers constructed a 99-yard drive in the final 1:20 to potentially send the game to overtime. But kicker Damian Ramos' extra point was blocked on the final snap of the game.
Southern kicked off its season last Saturday with a dominant 86-0 home win over Florida Memorial.
Even besides the blocked extra point, LSU had an ugly performance against the Seminoles. The Tigers also muffed two punts, had a field goal blocked and struggled on both sides of the ball throughout the night.
