LSU football vs. Alabama score: Live updates from top-10 showdown in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE - No. 10 LSU football is trying to score the biggest win of coach Brian Kelly's tenure on Saturday when it hosts No. 6 Alabama in Tiger Stadium on Saturday (6 p.m., ESPN).

Both LSU (6-2, 4-1 SEC) and Alabama (7-1, 4-1) head into the matchup refreshed, coming of open weeks in their schedules.

Two weeks ago, LSU (No. 17 AFCA Coaches/No. 15 AP poll) defeated Ole Miss in Tiger Stadium, 45-20. It was LSU's second consecutive win and its sixth victory in seven games. Alabama (No. 6 AFCA Coaches/No. 6 AP), meanwhile, smashed Mississippi State 30-6 following its only loss of the year to Tennessee, its first loss to the Volunteers in 16 years.

The last time these two sides faced off, LSU nearly pulled off the major upset in Tuscaloosa. The Tigers had the ball inside the Crimson Tide's 45-yard line with 3:25 left to play and an opportunity to take the lead, but lost 20-14.
