LSU football coach Brian Kelly joined ESPN broadcasters Tom Hart and Tim Hasselbeck during the second quarter of Tuesday's Texas Bowl.
Kelly addressed his viral moments after becoming the LSU head coach — a fake Southern accent and dancing with quarterback prospect Walker Howard — when Hart asked Kelly about the two moments.
"Listen, Walker Howard is a five-star quarterback," Kelly said. "And you know that you got to do what your quarterback asks, right? If he says you got to dance, why wouldn't you dance? And listen, whether it was dancing or I couldn't get my accent down with 'family.' Listen, I'm from Boston. We don't have strong accents."
Kelly then turned to Hasselbeck, a native of Norfolk, Massachusetts, and said, "By the way, you cannot get on me about my accent, because you've got one, too."

Hart then interrupted to say that Kansas State defensive back Russ Yeast had intercepted a pass by LSU's Jontre Kirklin.
"Ouch," Kelly said of the interception.
Hasselbeck then asked about Kelly connecting with recruits.

"At the end of the day, this is really about, for me, I want to be part of this community," Kelly said. "I want to be part of Louisiana. I'm originally from the Midwest and the East Coast, so I want to really immerse myself in Louisiana and this community. I'm so excited to be down here in Baton Rouge. They've treated us so great. It's about family. It's really about the football is so great."
During an LSU men's basketball game on Dec. 1, Kelly addressed the crowd, and during the speech, he occasionally used a southern accent. It was most pronounced when he said the word "family."
