LSU women's basketball score vs. Hawaii: March Madness live updates

BATON ROUGE – A quality measuring stick of exactly how far ahead Kim Mulkey is in her rebuild of LSU women's basketball gets its true starting point Friday afternoon.

The three-time national championship-winning coach has guided the Tigers to back-to-back NCAA Tournament berths to start off her stint in Baton Rouge. No. 3 seed LSU (28-2) hosts No. 14 seed Hawaii (18-14) inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center Friday (4:30 p.m., ESPN2) in the first round.

Last season, also as a No. 3 seed, the Tigers struggled mightily against Jackson State in the opening game of March Madness before the madness caught up to them in round two with lower-seeded Ohio State knocking them out on their own floor.
