GREENVILLE, S.C. – LSU women's basketball will look for its first SEC Tournament win of the Kim Mulkey era against Georgia.
The No. 7 Bulldogs defeated No. 10 Auburn, 63-47, Thursday night to set up the matchup against No. 2 LSU (27-1) inside the Bon Secours Wellness Arena Friday night (5 p.m., SEC Network).
In the team's first appearance in the conference tournament under Mulkey last season, the Tigers, the No. 2 seed, were upset by No. 7 Kentucky in the quarterfinals. Mulkey said following the regular season finale win against Mississippi State that she and her team are aiming to not have a repeat of what happened in Nashville last season.
Georgia (21-10) gave the Tigers one of the tightest games of the season back in early February. LSU escaped in overtime, 82-77.
