The much-anticipated second season with Kim Mulkey as head coach of LSU has arrived as the No. 16 Tigers tip things off against Bellarmine inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center Monday night (7 p.m., SEC Network+).
For the first time in nine years, LSU is ranked in the preseason. How Mulkey and her staff pieced together one of the top recruiting classes in the country as well as welcomed the top transfer in Angel Reese from Maryland.

Mulkey guided the Tigers to 26 wins in 2021-22, a number not expected by any. LSU looks to be ahead of schedule in the rebuild and after bringing in Reese and freshman star Flau'jae Johnson to pair with senior guard Alexis Morris. Both Morris and Reese are national preseason player-of-the-year candidates.
