Lu Ann Stoia, longtime ABC6 and FOX28 reporter, moving on

Lu Ann Stoia, a longtime reporter at WSYX ABC6 and WTTE FOX28 in Columbus, has announced that she will not be renewing her contract and will be leaving the station on Friday.

After over a decade of reporting in the area and 48 years in the communication business, the Emmy Award-winning journalist has decided to step away from her role in journalism.

"Journalism has been my 'calling,' and now I am looking forward to serving our community in new ways," she stated in a Facebook post. "What an awesome run. A big thank you to all who have been there along the way."

Stoia expressed gratitude to the ABC 6 newsroom and the station's viewers, stating that she will miss them. Though she emphasized that she is not retiring, but rather "re-firing" as she moves forward into the next chapter of her life.

She also expressed her love for the community and encouraged anyone who sees her out and about to say hello.

Last week, 10TV anchor and reporter Tino Ramos announced his retirement after 29 at that station.
