Luana Stoltenberg not seeking reelection to District 81

A local representative to the Iowa House is not seeking reelection.

Iowa House Representative Luana Stoltenberg (R-81) announced she would not campaign for another term in the Iowa House of Representatives. She has represented the residents of House District 81 since 2022. House District 81 is in Scott County and contains a northwestern section of Davenport. Stoltenberg’s announcement creates an open seat in the district.

“It has been an honor to serve the people of District 81 and the state of Iowa,” said Stoltenberg. “I am grateful for the opportunity and have enjoyed my time in the Statehouse immensely. I have prayed on this decision and feel it is what is best for me and my family. I will continue my work to protect unborn babies from abortion and creating a culture of life in Iowa and across the country.” During her tenure, she served on the local government, veterans affairs and natural resources committees.

“Luana has been a pleasure to work with in the Iowa House,” said Speaker Pat Grassley (R-New Hartford). “I appreciate her passion and know she will continue to make the state of Iowa and her community a better place in every way she can.”
