Lubbock-area high school baseball, softball top performers: April 4-5

SOFTBALL

Mikayla Carrillo, Plainview

Carrillo belted a pair of doubles and drove in seven runs in Plainview's 29-0 thumping of Palo Duro on Monday.

Ashley Ramirez and Brianne Franco, Brownfield

Ramirez and Franco each went 4-for-4 — with each having three hits being doubles — in Brownfield's 23-1 rout of Dimmitt. Ramirez drove in seven runs and Franco four.

Aubriana Rivas, Levelland

Rivas went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double and three RBI to help the Loboettes beat Estacado 9-8.

Xyla Madry, Seminole

Madry came up a triple shy of the cycle, hitting a home run, a double and a single, driving in two runs and scoring three for the Maidens.

Ava Aviles, Snyder

Aviles pitched a complete-game shutout, allowing just three hits and two walks and striking out seven over seven innings against San Angelo Lake View.

Kaycee Swinford, Tahoka

Swinford went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double, two RBI and two runs scored for the Lady Bulldogs in their loss to Forsan.

Rexie Sanders, Borden County

Sanders hit two doubles, a triple and drove in six runs at the plate and also had four strikeouts in the circle for Borden County.

Alexis Lusk and Tatiana Trotter, Monterey

Lusk went 4-for-4 with two home runs, a double, six RBI and four runs scored for the Lady Plainsmen. Meanwhile, Trotter hit the first cycle in Monterey history, driving in five runs and scoring four.

Mikayla Shires, Shallowater

Shires hit two doubles and a single for the Fillies in their 6-5 loss to Slaton.

Clarissa de la Fuente, Floydada

In Floydada's 18-0 win over Sundown, de la Fuente had three hits, including a triple and a double, drove in four runs and scored two more.

Lubbock-Cooper trio

The Lady Pirates got home runs from Kimber Craig, Aubrey Fallon and Lydia Pesterfield to take down district-leading Coronado 14-6.

BASEBALL

New Deal's entire team

The Lions scored 10 runs in both the first and second innings to blast Post 22-0. Four players — Colby Henderson, Harley Patterson, Tyler Bigham and Anthony Cantu — each had three RBI with three others driving in two apiece. Patterson struck out four batters over two innings and Jonas Rodriguez five over three.

Pablo Morales, Lockney

Morales hit a triple and a single in Lockney's 9-4 win over Hale Center.

Oscar Velasquez, Seminole

Velasquez doubled, singled and drove in four runs for Seminole in a 14-4 win over Fort Stockton.

Tyler Gilliam, Ropes

Gilliam hit a grand slam and added a double and four runs scored for the Eagles in their triumph over Morton.

Timothy Haynes, Lubbock-Cooper

Haynes went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in the Pirates' 18-2 thumping of Lubbock High.

Erik Estrada, Denver City

Estrada had three hits and drove in five runs for the Mustangs in their win over Lamesa.

Ashton Lucio, New Home

Lucio hit a home run, two triples and a single, driving in six runs and scoring three for the Leopards in their 29-1 win over Seagraves.

Landry Miller, Abernathy

Miller hit a home run and two singles, driving in four runs for the Antelopes in their 16-8 win over Slaton.

Kohle Kerin, Shallowater

Kerin hit a home run, two doubles and drove in five for the Mustangs in their win over Idalou.

Blake Klose, Levelland

Klose collected three hits for the Lobos in their 5-4 loss to Estacado.
