LENT/EASTER SERVICES

• Shepherd King Lutheran Church, ELCA, 2122 18th St. (806) 762-5080. Good Friday Service, April 7 at 6 p.m. Easter Sunday service, April 9 at 10:30 a.m., communion.

• Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2221 Ave. W; Lenten services: Good Friday, April 7, 7 p.m. Tenebrae. Easter Sunday, April 9, 8-8:50 a.m. breakfast; 8:50 a.m. treasure hunt (Bible verses and candy) for kids; 9:10 a.m. children’s story. Easter service, 9:30 a.m. with Holy Communion. After services, Bible study and Sunday school activities for children. There will be a place to write down prayer requests in the parish hall. Visitors are encouraged to use the east entrance. • Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1706 Slide Road, traditional liturgical services on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Good Friday’s service will be at 6 p.m., April 7, with holy communion and procession of the wooden cross. Easter Sunday’s celebration will be at 10:30 a.m., April 9, and will feature trumpet accompaniment and holy communion. Our worship leaders and speakers will be Pastor Mike Holmes and Alan Ehlo, with piano accompaniment by Jumyeong Lee, a graduate student in piano performance at Texas Tech’s School of Music. All interested persons are very welcome to come and participate.

• St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1510 Ave. X: Good Friday, April 7, noon; Easter Sunday, April 9, 8 and 10:30 a.m. with potluck brunch between services at 9 a.m. and children's egg hunt after 10:30 a.m. service.

• First Christian Church, 2323 Broadway: Good Friday, 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary; Easter Sunday, parking lot service 8:15 a.m., sanctuary service 9 a.m., sanctuary service 11 a.m.

• Forrest Heights United Methodist Church, 3007 33rd St. Good Friday 6 p.m. service of reflection, Easter Sunday, 11 a.m. worship.

• Covenant Presbyterian Church, 4600 48th St., Lubbock, 792-6124; www.covenantpresbylbk.org; Good Friday, April 7, Tenebraé Taizé Service, 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary; Easter Sunday, April 9, 10 a.m. Easter Egg Hunt on the front lawn, 11 a.m. Worship Service in the Sanctuary.

• First Presbyterian Church, 130th Street and Memphis Avenue. Good Friday service featuring Stations of the Cross with special music and artwork, 7 p.m.; Easter Sunday: Sunrise service 9 a.m., followed by Easter brunch 9:30 a.m., Easter Sunday service featuring special music 10:30 a.m.

• Our Lady of Guadalupe, 1120 52nd St. Good Friday: 3 p.m.,. Divine Mercy, 7 p.m. The Way of the Cross starting at Stubbs Park on Avenue M and 37th Street walking to the church. Holy Saturday vigil of the Lords Resurrection at 8 p.m. Easter Sunday Mass at 8 a.m. Spanish; Mass at 10:30 a.m. English; and Mass at 12:30 p.m. English.

• Wolfforth Methodist Church, 1010 Donald Preston Drive. Good Friday, 6:30 p.m.; Easter Sunrise Service, 7 a.m. Easter Sunday Services at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.

• Grace Presbyterian Church, 4820 19th St. at Vicksburg Avenue, (806) 799-6530. Easter Sunday Pancake Breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Easter Sunday Worship Service 11 a.m.
