LENT/EASTER SERVICES

  • Shepherd King Lutheran Church, ELCA, 2122 18th St. (806) 762-5080. Holden Lenten Evening Prayer Services, March 22, 29 at 6 p.m. Palm Sunday Service, April 2, 10:30 a.m., Communion. Maundy Thursday Service, April 6 at 6 p.m., communion. Good Friday Service, April 7 at 6 p.m. Easter Sunday service, April 9 at 10:30 a.m., communion.

  • Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2221 Ave. W; Lenten services: March 22, 7 p.m. “Isaiah 53:10-11”; Wednesday, March 29, 7 p.m. “Isaiah 53:12”; Maundy Thursday, April 6, 7 p.m. with Holy Communion; Good Friday, April 7, 7 p.m. Tenebrae. Easter Sunday, April 9, 8-8:50 a.m. breakfast; 8:50 a.m. treasure hunt (Bible verses and candy) for kids; 9:10 a.m. children’s story. Easter service, 9:30 a.m. with Holy Communion. After services, Bible study and Sunday school activities for children. There will be a place to write down prayer requests in the parish hall. Visitors are encouraged to use the east entrance.   • Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1706 Slide Road, is holding the contemporary Lutheran vespers service, Holden Evening Prayer, at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22. This musical liturgy was written by Marty Haugen in 1986. Everyone is welcome to come and participate.
