Lubbock Habitat for Humanity celebrates 2024 Capitol Build

Lubbock Habitat for Humanity completed its newest housing project, the “2024 Capitol Build," with a closing ceremony Saturday in the 2100 block of Dartmouth Street.

Lubbock Habitat for Humanity was selected by Texas Habitat for Humanity as this year’s only Capitol Build affiliate, a huge honor for the entire Lubbock community, according to Lubbock Habitat Executive Director Christy Reeves.

"This designation signifies not only a momentous achievement but also a demonstration of the need for affordable housing in Lubbock," she said, adding that the ceremony capped off more than a week of hard work by a team of volunteers and Habitat for Humanity staff.
