Lubbock ranks among Top 10 Best Dog Park Cities in country
Lubbock has been ranked among the Top 10 cities in the country for dog park, according to a recent survey and ranking list from LawnStarter.
The list of 2022’s Best Dog Park Cities evaluated 93 cities on the number of dog parks a city has, how accessible they are and the quality of the parks, according to a news release.

Currently, Lubbock has two public dog parks - Canyon Run Dog Park and Hub City Unleashed Dog Park - and a third one, McAlister Dog Park, is still in progress.
Canyon Run Dog Run is located in Mackenzie Park and features 2.64 acres of area for larger dogs and 1.02 acres for smaller dogs, according to the city's website. Hub City Unleashed is located in Clapp Park and has 1.1 acres for large dogs and .31 acres for smaller dogs.
Each site includes pet friendly water fountains and double gates to enter the park. Both are open from Tuesday to Sunday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m and Monday from noon to 10 p.m.

LawnStarter released the rankings to mark July as National Lost Pet Prevention Month, reminding Americans to keep an eye on their furry friends when outside.
