MANSFIELD — They had to overcome a lot of adversity, but the trio of Lucas' Shelby Grover and Mansfield Christian's Alexis Rippel and Kyleah Jones did it with flying colors.

The trio earned first team All-District 6 honors despite overcoming several injuries throughout the season. Both Grover and Rippel suffered broken ankles while Jones suffered a shoulder injury and all three missed significant time because of them.

Yet, here they are as first team All-District 6 selections. Grover returned midway through the season and helped the Cubs turn things around by scoring 22 points and added 9.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists a game during her senior year.

Rippel scored 17.9 points and added 4.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists while Jones scored 13.3 points and grabbed 12.2 rebounds a game for a solid double-double average.

They were joined on the list by Plymouth juniors Jaylin Branham and Destiny Detillion who both took second team honors while Mansfield Christian's Abby Little was an honorable mention honoree.
