'Lucky' Missouri Teens Fall Through Ice Near Firefighter Ice-Rescue Training Drill

Two teenagers were rescued from an icy lake in St Louis, Missouri, when, in a stroke of luck, nearby firefighters spied the pair falling through the ice during a training drill on February 8.

Maryland Heights Fire Protection District said personnel were wrapping up ice-rescue training exercises when a chief saw the two teens falling through into the water.

The crew who were carrying out training at Creve Coeur Lake were able to help the pair out of the water in a “very timely fashion,” according to officials.
