Lucy Liu Sells Off Two NYC Condos Within a Month

The Elementary star offloaded two different condos in the Flatiron District after also selling her longtime Studio City retreat

Lucy Liu’s on a selling spree. The Elementary star offloaded her longtime Studio City, Calif., retreat earlier this year, and less than a month later, she sold off two condominiums located one atop the other in a swanky boutique building in NYC’s Flatiron District. Liu, who purchased the units separately—one in early 2005 and the second about a year later—sold off the condos at $2.995 million apiece (she had paid a total of about $4 million for the apartments back then). Though it’s unclear whether the units were sold to two different buyers or one lucky owner. If the latter is true, the two units could possibly be merged into an ultramodern luxury pad.

Together, the condos measure a combined 3,500 square feet; the lower unit is a three-bedroom that measures in at 1,816 square feet, with 10-foot ceilings and large windows with built-in shutters. A main open-concept living space that includes the living, dining, and kitchen areas stretches more than 40 feet, with a gas fireplace adding an element of warmth to the otherwise more clean-cut room. The master suite is made up of a spacious bedroom, a marble bathroom with a deep soaking tub, and a separate glass-enclosed steam shower, as well as an oversize dressing room and walk-in closet. Another room can easily be used as either a den or guest bedroom. The upper unit similarly features 10-foot-tall ceilings and a loftlike open-concept floor plan, with a look and feel similar to that of its neighbor down below; there are two en suite bedrooms plus a den, with three bathrooms total. Both units feature key-lock elevator entry.

Even with the sale of her two condos, however, Liu will still have a place to rest her head when she’s in NYC. Back in the summer of 2018, she quietly purchased an 1,800-square-foot two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom condo on a lower floor of a restored Beaux Arts building also in the Flatiron District. It’s uncertain where Liu might hole up when she’s in Los Angeles, however, given that she recently sold her longtime 4,098-square-foot Zen retreat in Fryman Canyon, Calif., for $3.06 million. Perhaps she’s also purchased a home out there on the down low?
