Luis Robert goes 1-for-3 with an RBI as the Chicago White Sox center fielder begins his rehab assignment with Class A Winston-Salem

Chicago White Sox center fielder Luis Robert went 1-for-3 with one RBI as he began a rehab assignment with Class A Winston-Salem on Wednesday against Jersey Shore in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Batting third and playing center, Robert flied out to center in the first and third.

He drove in a run with a bloop single to right in the fifth and was lifted for a pinch runner.

Robert is coming back from a complete tear of his right hip flexor that he suffered May 2 against the Cleveland Indians when he raced to first for an infield hit. He fell after crossing the bag and had to be helped off the field.

He was medically cleared June 29 to increase his level of baseball activities and received clearance Monday to start the rehab assignment.

Sox left fielder Eloy Jiménez is on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte. He went 1-for-4 with a single Wednesday at Durham.
