In terms of attempts at game-winning buzzer-beaters, "24-foot floater" is probably not the outcome any coach desires while drawing up a final play. And yet, Luka Doncic made it happen.

The Dallas Mavericks star stunned the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday with the most ridiculous of game-winners, an off-balance, one-footed, buzzer-beating, 3-point floater to give the Mavs a 114-113 win.

With 1.8 seconds remaining, Dallas inbounded the ball to Doncic, who was immediately picked up by Dillon Brooks. Somehow, Doncic squirmed around the defender, leapt forward and heaved a shot that had no business going in.

It went in.

Two words: Luka magic.

Doncic had just as much trouble as everyone else explaining the shot after the game.

Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle at least had the right words: "We had Houdini."

Seriously, look at this:

That wizardry was the final play of another strong performance from Doncic, who posted 29 points on 10-of-20 shooting (3-of-10 from deep) with nine assists, five rebounds and two steals.

The win was pivotal for the 30-24 Mavericks, who put a full game between them and the Grizzlies for seventh place in the West and keep themselves in contention to avoid the play-in tournament. The Portland Trail Blazers sit only a game ahead for sixth place.
