Luka Doncic won't finish this latest Suns-Mavericks matchup on the floor.

Doncic suffered a left ankle sprain in the first quarter of Thursday's showdown at Footprint Center and won't return, Mavericks officials confirmed.

Just named a West All-Star starter, Doncic checked out the game with 8:39 left in the first.

Josh Green replaced Doncic, who didn't score as he missed his two field goal attempts and didn't have any assists.

The game was tied at 32-32 after one. The Mavs entered the game minus Maxi Kleber (hamstring) and Christian Wood (thumb).

The Suns are without Devin Booker (groin), Cameron Payne (foot) and Landry Shamet (foot).

Doncic averaged 34.5 points in his two games against Phoenix this season. Splitting their first two games, the Suns (25-24) and Mavs (25-24) meet one more time this regular season March 5 in Dallas.
