Since its opening at the beginning of the year, the Republican National Committee’s Community Center in Robeson County has been leading the community in voter registration, community engagement events, phone banking and of course, movie and ice cream social nights.

The RNC’s investment in our community was much needed after feeling like we have been left behind for as long as anyone can remember. Now, after all this time, the Lumbee Tribe has been heard.

The Republican Party’s commitment to representing the people of the Lumbee Tribe goes beyond the movie and game nights. The Lumbee Tribe prides itself on our core values of individual liberty and tribal sovereignty. These values can be best represented by the Republican Party.

Republican Congressman and now U.S. Senate candidate Ted Budd, as well as Reps. Dan Bishop, Richard Hudson, David Rouzer and Greg Murphy, have all fought for federal protections and full rights of self-determination for the Lumbee Tribe by cosponsoring and voting for the Lumbee Recognition Act, which corrects the injustice within the Lumbee Act of 1956.

When it comes to our faith, the Republican Party better represents the values that we hold so closely. The Lumbee Tribe’s dedication to our faith is a cornerstone of who we are and how we operate. That is why the protection of unborn life is of the utmost importance to us.

Day after day, we see Republicans continuing to fight to protect innocent life while Democrats push more to take away helpless lives. We cannot sit idly by when there are children at risk of losing their lives before they are even given a chance.

Republicans continue the fight to protect our children beyond the womb. While Democrats in North Carolina were fighting for lockdowns, mask mandates and trying to keep our kids out of school, Republicans were fighting for improved school safety, an increase in parental rights in education and taking action against schools forcing masks on children.

While North Carolina Democrats carry on Biden’s bad policies, the Lumbee Tribe is being hit hard by historic inflation, out of control gas and grocery prices, and a recession brought on by reckless spending. Since Democrats don’t think things are bad enough, they have now pushed through a new $400 billion plus tax that will raise taxes on the families and businesses of North Carolina.

Meanwhile, Republicans are doing everything they can to cut taxes in the Old North State, bring down costs and make it easier to raise a family. Democrats will keep catering to Biden’s careless spending policies, but thankfully Republicans hear the concerns of North Carolinians, and the Lumbee Tribe, and will continue to push back against Democrats’ recklessness.

When it comes to who represents our values, the choice is clear. Republicans have and will continue to make historic investments in our communities and that is why we need to make sure to get out and vote this November.
