Lunacy Brewing Company is closing its doors

HADDON HEIGHTS – Lunacy Brewing Company is closing its doors for good.

Lunacy made the announcement in an emotional Facebook post, which mentions the pandemic, brewery restrictions and other problems that led them to the decision to close their doors. Their final day and last call will be Sept. 16.

“This is a post we really didn’t want to make,” the post read. “After 8+ years, we have decided to close our doors. It wasn’t an easy decision, but we feel it’s the best for us. From day 1, the support was there. A bunch of guys home brewing in a garage decided to take a shot and open a business. We landed at 214 Davis Road in Magnolia New Jersey. If you were there you knew the charm."

Lunacy opened its doors in Haddon Heights in 2017 after deciding to expand production. A new chapter was started at 1500 Kings Highway in Haddon Heights, the post said.

“A new location, new equipment with a very similar vibe and atmosphere. (Without the long walk to the bathroom). We ran into many hiccups that prevented us from expanding the production side of the business," it said. "Along with those obstacles were the pandemic, brewery restrictions and other problems that led to our decision to close our doors.”

Lunacy offers farewell to its customers

“We have embraced you the way you embraced us,” it said. “We have been invited to parties, invited to weddings and ‘crashed’ another one. We attended a funeral for fellow brewer. We have met some of the best people over the last several years that we are lucky enough to now call friends.

“We have to thank our amazing staff (past and present) that have helped us...We will miss brewing beer, we will miss hanging out and talking with you. We will miss the others in the industry that were always there to help when we needed it.

SJ brewery expanding Double Nickel is becoming a brew pub. But what is it?

They promise that the final day, Saturday 9/16, will be a "celebration with live music and friends and family both old and new! We all hope to see you here that day or days leading up to the finale! Last call!!! Come out and say hello (not goodbye). We love you all.”
