After unveiling a new glamping hotel in the Moroccan desert earlier this fall, Habitas is expanding its global portfolio with another wishlist-worthy property, this time in New York’s Hudson Valley.

On Dec. 1, the sustainability-focused hospitality group will welcome guests to its first outpost in North America: Habitas on Hudson, an adults-only hotel housed in several structures, including a historic neo-Baroque estate just outside Rhinebeck, New York.

"We felt this location in particular would make the perfect cultural playground for our community, where they can easily escape to and immerse themselves in nature," Oliver Ripley, co-founder and CEO of Habitas told Travel + Leisure.

With lush forests and rolling fields surrounding it, the retreat will feature 30 guest rooms that combine rustic-chic aesthetics and soothing natural materials. But the property’s specialty will be the exhaustive list of outdoor and indoor experiences that will transform it into a year-round playground for adults, inspired by the company’s core pillars: wellness, food, music, art, adventure, learning, and giving back.

In the summer, guests can take a dip in the nearby swimmable pond and relax at the beach club, while winters offer ice skating on the pond. Archery, yoga, mountain biking, hiking, padel, and volleyball are just some of the activities Habitas on Hudson has in store. Those looking for a more wellness-focused stay can take advantage of breath work sessions, XTP training, and massages, or try the barrel sauna, jacuzzi, and cold-plunge pools. And when the sun sets, a game room, fire pits, and an outdoor performance venue/gathering place will keep the property’s guests entertained.

"Our goal with Habitas on Hudson is to introduce a year-round destination to the Hudson Valley region that is inspired by a summer camp for adults," Ripley said. "Adventure, learning, exploration, and culinary experiences take front stage, with guests being able to enjoy unique programming for all four seasons,"

Community is also at the core of the culinary program of Habitas on Hudson. Family-style dinners and outdoor BBQs, serving international fare inspired by the company’s global portfolio, will bring travelers together.
