This luxury destination resort near Miami Beach named the best in the country — again

The oceanfront jewel of Sunny Isles Beach has just been named the best destination resort in the United States.

Famous for its iconic beachfront red couches and umbrellas, Acqualina Resort & Residences was recognized as the best destination resort in the country in the 2023 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards by USA Today.

The voters praised Acqualina for its beachfront glamour and “luxurious extras like complimentary activities, a marine biology-based children’s program, and spa access. Lavish accommodations boast stunning views, while three oceanfront pools add to the appeal.”

CEO and partner Deborah Yager Fleming said in a statement the resort, which consistently earns Forbes Five-Star ratings, takes great pride in the achievement.

“We have worked very hard to achieve and maintain a high level of excellence, and I am so proud of our incredible team,” she said.

Earlier this year, Acqualina was named the best resort and the best hotel in the country in U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Hotel” listings. The property was also named one of the top luxury hotels in the U.S. in Tripadvisor’s 2023 Travelers Choice Best of the Best Awards for hotels.

The other top hotels in the U.S. were Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Virginia; The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs; The Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing, New York; Hidden Pond in Kennebunkport, Maine; Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa in Whitefield, New Hampshire; Grand Hotel in Makinac Island, Michigan; Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, New York; Jekyll Island Club Resort; and The Wigwam in Litchfield Park, Arizona.

Best boutique hotels

The Hotel Trouvail Miami Beach was also named one of the top 10 boutique hotels in the country. USA Today’s 10Best praised it for its “signature Art Deco look” and location on Indian Creek Drive.
