Dior’s traveling men’s pre-fall collections post-pandemic

After pausing on the brand’s tradition of its traveling men’s pre-fall collections due to the pandemic, Dior resumed its show last year.

The men’s pre-fall collection was shown last year in London. Previously, there were pre-fall runway displays in Miami and Tokyo.

This year will be the first time Dior has put on a show in Egypt. In the past, there have been Dior shows in China, Italy, Greece, Spain, South Korea, the U.S., and the U.K.

Kim Jones’ connection to Africa

Dior’s designer Kim Jones has a great relationship with the African continent. He spent time in Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, and Tanzania during his childhood. Jones was raised by a hydrogeologist, which impacted his love and experience for travel as well as protecting endangered species.

Christian Dior, the founder of Dior, was also known for being well-traveled and having a global outlook.

According to the International Directory of Company Histories, by the mid-1950s, Dior had a team of over 1,7000 people across five continents.

The Dior men’s pre-fall collection will take place near Cairo in Egypt on December 3rd, 2022.
