Lyndhurst, Ohio woman killed in crash involving truck, car in eastern Crawford County

An Erie man charged with having inappropriate sexual contact with a boy at Harborcreek Youth Services on Jan. 3 is now accused by the Pennsylvania State Police of sexually assaulting another boy at the Harborcreek Township facility.

TITUSVILLE — An Ohio woman was killed and a man was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash in eastern Crawford County on Wednesday afternoon.

The accident was reported on Wednesday at 3:41 p.m. on Buells Corners Road at the intersection of Route 89 in Rome Township, east of Centerville.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police in Corry, a 2020 Subaru Forester driven by a 67-year-old Lyndhurst, Ohio, man was traveling west on Buells Corners Road when the driver failed to stop at a posted stop sign at Route 89 and entered the intersection, where it was struck by an International truck traveling south on Route 89.

The Subaru spun and rolled before coming to rest on its driver's side, troopers reported.

A passenger in the Subaru, identified by state police as 66-year-old Rebecca Swanson of Lyndhurst, was taken to Titusville Area Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 5:13 p.m. Wednesday, Crawford County Coroner Scott Schell said. The driver of the Subaru was also taken to Titusville Area Hospital with suspected serious injuries, according to state police.

The driver of the International, a 32-year-old Shippenville man, was not reported injured in the accident.

State police are continuing their investigation into the accident.
