Lyndhurst police looking for hit-and-run suspect

Nov. 23—The Lyndhurst Police Department is seeking information related to a crash involving a pedestrian who was struck while crossing Mayfield Road around 7 p.m., Nov. 5.

According to a post on the department's Facebook page, the suspect's vehicle, possibly a dark- or red-colored SUV, was captured on video surveillance exiting the rear parking lot behind Lyndhurst Beverage. The vehicle then traveled southbound on Irene and made a left turn on to Mayfield eastbound when it struck the pedestrian in the crosswalk causing serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle never stopped, according to the post.
