Sacramento County’s Dine at Home pandemic program was designed to feed homebound seniors, all while supporting local businesses. It offered relief at a critical time, running from June 2020 to April 2021. With programs like Meals on Wheels on pause, Dine at Home was “a godsend” for seniors like Kristin Hart-Gerard, who was at special risk from contracting COVID-19. "Each delivery included a whole lot of fresh fruit. It also included either chicken, fish or beef, and sometimes it had like a casserole effect but just things with it," she said.
