‘I’m mad as hell:’ Metro Atlanta grandmother’s home shot up twice in just hours

A DeKalb County grandmother said her home was shot up twice in the same night, and now she wants answers.

Channel 2′s Veronica Griffin was at the home in the Orchard subdivision off of River Street in DeKalb County Tuesday, where Sylvia Williams home was pierced by bullets more than a dozen times on Monday night.

Williams told Griffin that she believes teenagers are behind it.

“(It was) like firecrackers,” Williams said. “Loud firecrackers and then my house started shaking. I’m mad as hell.”

Williams said it’s a miracle no one was sleeping in a bed on the second floor, where a window was shot out. There were more bullet holes in the walls, mirror and staircase.

“I went in my grandson’s bathroom and then that’s when I saw the bullet holes in the mirror,” Williams said. “Then I turned around like this. That’s when I saw the bullet holes in the wall.”

Williams said she believes the shooter or shooters were teenagers who go to school with her grandson and that he was the intended target.

“My thing is, this has be connected to these bad teenagers at Cedar Grove High School,” Williams said. “I’m an innocent bystander. My granddaughter is an innocent bystander. We both could have been killed last night.”

Williams is not giving her grandson a pass and says she considers him to be part of the group of bad teenagers at Cedar Grove.

DeKalb County police confirmed they are investigating the shooting.
