Mýa, Sudan Archives and more performing at new two-day Walnut Hills festival

Cincy Nice is kicking off its Walnut Hills summer programs with a new festival. This Friday and Saturday, the organization will host the first Still Smiling Fest at Five Points Alley.

The two-day event will feature musical performances by headliners Mýa and Sudan Archives, as well as local artists like Lauren Eylise, Siri Imani and more. Festival attendees can also enjoy interactive art installations and local food and business vendors.

Organizers plan to make this an annual event.

The first Still Smiling Fest takes place this Friday and Saturday, May 20 and 21, at Five Points Alley, 2425 Gilbert Ave. in Walnut Hills.

Both single-day and two-day passes to the festival are available at stillsmilingfest.com/tickets. Friday tickets cost $28 and Saturday tickets cost $35. Two-day passes for both days cost $54.

The event is for those 21 and up and runs both Friday, May 20, and Saturday, May 21, from 4 to 11 p.m. Pets and outside food and drinks, except water, are prohibited.

Cincy Nice led a revitalization of Five Points Alley in 2020 and has hosted more than 40 events at the community space over the past two years. Earlier this year, the organization also brought in artist Imagine 876 to create a large-scale mural in the area. The festival is part of Cincy Nice's goal to uplift the Black cultural heritage of Walnut Hills and create opportunities for local artists and business owners, the event's website states.
