Emirates jumping on the eco-friendly bandwagon in various ways

Emirates, which operates a daily nonstop between Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport and its home hub in Dubai, UAE, is slowly embracing the eco-friendly mindset that United Airlines has been for several years urging all carriers to adopt. After stating that it has made a network-wide commitment to reduce single-use plastics on board all aircraft, Emirates this week said it has begun using paper straws on flights instead of plastic straws. Based on feedback from Emirates staff and cabin crew, the Dubai-based airline also has been conducting trials on various Emirates flights to explore other possible recycling initiatives.
