EXCLUSIVE: EQT temporarily shuts down some field ops after contractor tests positive for COVID-19

Natural gas driller EQT Corp. has temporarily shut down its hydraulic fracturing operations after one of its contractors tested positive for COVID-19. EQT (NYSE: EQT) learned Wednesday of the positive result, which was on a contractor who last worked on a well site in Belmont County, Ohio, on March 14. It notified EQT employees and contractors who were in direct contact with the person to self-isolate until Sunday, which would be the 14-day period recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and others.
